Rushing to ban everything that ought to be banned might mean that the time hasn't been taken to bring along enough people to win the mid-terms, or the 2028 election. Then everything is reversed again. Isn't it more important to take the steps that can be seen to be reasonable by enough of the populace that the changes have some stability?
