Get an ag unit & battery. DO NOT CONNECT TO THE GRID. This is just another fascist Off Switch. Ya don't want your social credit jail card controlling your heater or a/c!

Yes…

All part of zee plan.

Can’t have mysterious grid failures by hacking if you don’t build in the capabilities to do so first.

Too much wind and solar without any improvements to grid infrastructure is going to lead to energy disaster

Interesting. There's a World Solar Hall of Fame? Which countries are party to the arrangement?

This guy is an anti solar plant. First modern inverters allow you to feed the grid and add batteries. And connect to a generator. If you produce day 30 KWH a day and only use 16 KWH , then you can store 14 in your batteries and use them at night. What makes this guy the Village Idiot - if you do this don’t send any back to the grid , THEN IT IS NO DIFFERENT THAN HAVING A GENERATOR FOR YOUR HOME .

The UTILITY CANNOT CHARGE YOU IF YOU DO NOT USE A GRID CONNECTION TO SEND POWER BACK. OK, YOUR INVERTER ONLY SENSES THE GRID AND IF IT DOES GO DOWN THEN YOUR BATTERY BANK WILL BE ABLE TO POWER SOME OF YOUR 110 AC LOAD AND MAYBE MORE IF YOUR HAVE ENOUGH BATTERIES AND

IF YOU RUN A GENERATOR IT WILL POWER YOUR LOAD AND ANY EXTRA POWER ( generator creates but you don’t use ) GETS STORED IN THE BATTERY BANK.

THIS SOLAR SYSTEM IS EXACTLY LIKE A GENERATOR WITH A BATTERY BANK THAT IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE GRID . Unless your utility charges you for sunlight falling on your roof or ground mount they cannot do anything.

This year the 30% federal rebate ends for residential homes. If you spend $10,000 on a solar electric system including a ground mount you get a tax credit dollar per dollar of $3,000 . On a ten year loan you ARE ALWAYS AHEAD BECAUSE THE FIRST YEAR YOU GET 45% minimum back. That is 30% IRS TAX RETURN and 15% savings. Plus extra % on the loan interest. Whatever is interest on the loan typically 15 to 25 % is an extra tax write off.

There are two keys . One you cannot get money back unless you have taxable income. Two it makes sense only if you own your property for your home or business.

How much do you need? Average your last twelve months of utilities KWH hours. If you average KWH hours ( the twelve months comes on every bill ) then the minimum size should be 60 to 75% of the average. Now some utilities bill you in tiers . Example , the first 1000 KWH may be half the price of any additional cost over that tier . Summer time cooling and winter time heating produce usually over the that tier.

Why 60 % to 75% minimum is a great investment is that will keep you always below the second tier.

How to get a great investment. One only PV or Solar Electric modules from companies on the STOCK MARKET BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES . Second if you buy modules from Hyundai, Panasonic, or Kyocera these are all major manufacturers of cars ( Hyundai) , electronics Panasonic or industrial ceramics Kyocera. So if they quit making solar electric modules like GE , Shell or BP did - THEY STILL HAVE TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES.

Most warranties are 25 to 30 years! When you look at a contract make sure whatever the salesperson told you in labor and warranties and anything else are written down on the contract.

Great news is that modern inverters can start with 2,000 watt and go up to 12,000 watts and add batteries and generators later.

If you have a ground mount or roof that faces south , east or west or combination that are unshaded from 9 AM TO 3 PM OR AT LEAST 10 to 2 PM you have a good site . Cutting down a shade tree for solar counts for the tax credit if it shades your site from 7 AM to 7 PM .

A ground mount for parking cars , trucks tractors or boats under counts for the IRS tax rebate.

REMEMBER A DOLLAR SAVED IS WORTH MORE THAN A TAXABLE DOLLAR EARNED

This is an extremely bad report by some one who is inexperienced in talking about this issue. Note I am one of 45 people in the WORLD SOLAR HALL OF FAME and in THE FLORIDA SOLAR HALL OF FAME. FIRST, IT IS BS that you have to correct to the grid in California. Think about this if you don’t pay your utility bill- they will cut you off in a heartbeat.

Basically, this guy doesn’t know what he is talking about!

What does “correct to the grid” mean?

The transformer going from your utility company to your home works both ways it transforms super high voltage from the power lines to 240 VOLTS AC going into your house in America. You don’t need batteries if you CONNECT to the grid because IF you produce more power than you are using THE utility transformer works both ways. It takes the excess power you are sending back and transforms it into high power grid power.

Lets say it is night time and you are using 4,000 that comes through your meter to your house and if you use 4,000 watts for one hour you have used and will be billed for 4KWH . NOW if during the day you are producing 4,000 watts of solar power going back into the grid for one hour and you have nothing on - the utility owes you for 4KWH

. IF YOU are using 2,000 in your home for an hour and your system is producing 4,000 for an hour, you are only sending 2000 KWH back. Each utility is different in how much you get BUT if you are connected to the grid then you have a meter that reads what goes in that you pay for and what goes back that the utility pays you back for producing.

In a simple grid connected system if the power grid from the utility goes down due to a tornado or hurricane you have no power Unless you also add a battery backup to your solar system. Modern inverters can add batteries later to a simple grid connection.
